10 years ago, I got a job offer in San Jose

10 years ago, I got a job offer in San Jose. 2x my salary. 20 min from my sister. I said no...and moved to Australia. That is NOT the decision I would make today.

👯♀️ Because today, I’d give ANYTHING to live 20min from my sister.

(Oh, and I’d only just applied to the Australia job... I said 'no' to San Jose without a firm alternative. Sounds CRAZY to me now.)

But back then, I was single and free. Australia called to me. I wanted to see what life could look like on the other side of the world.

Going to Australia was the right decision THEN…even as San Jose sounds more appealing NOW.

✨ Because our non-negotiables change as we change ✨

This is what folks miss when we’re stuck on big decisions.

We think there's one "correct" answer that will always be correct.

But our values evolve.

Our priorities shift.

What feels non-negotiable at 30 might feel irrelevant at 40.

The goal isn't to make the decision your future self would make.

It's to make the decision that aligns with who you are right now.

Is there a decision you've made 10 (or 20...30...) yrs ago that there's NO WAY you'd make today?
